You might notice something a little different about our Instagram profile

We took the chance now to change the name of our account to @ridersandelephants to capture all of our games. You’ll see our existing and new games popping up across our platforms over the coming months.

Despite The Emotional Culture Deck having been in the world (and in your workplace toolkit) for 3 years, it’s only the beginning for us at R&E. We’re really proud of where we’ve come from, the progress we’re making, and where we’re headed—and it’s all thanks to (and for) you!

R&E's mission to humanise the workplace is gaining traction and we're feeling so excited to be on the journey together. We hope you're feeling proud to be a part of what we’re creating here at R&E 🤍

On Instagram, you can now tag us @ridersandelephants

And use these hashtags for our games:

Emotional Culture Deck, how do I love thee...

This article is reposted from Tubi Oyson LinkedIn post here. Published on August 14, 2021

Tubi Oyston – Wellbeing specialist | Coach | Consultant | Facilitator |

It’s been about 17 months since I first connected with the Emotional Culture Deck (aka ECD, the Deck or my Beloveds), Jeremy Dean the creator, and the ever-growing Elephant and Rider community. I remember every moment - my first glimpse of the web profile, the painstaking printing, laminating and cutting out of my first deck, and my planned campaign to convince Jeremy to let me do the training even though I wasn’t an Agile coach (lucky for Jeremy it wasn’t necessary!). At 17 months and counting, I am still officially in the honeymoon period of a pure and innocent love affair – one I hope lasts a long time.

I have used the ECD concept and cards in so many ways outside of their original purpose – which tells me the quality of their design is second to none. Their effectiveness is limited

How to Set & Manage ECD Workshop Expectations

By Lotty Roberts & Steve Hargreaves

Before considering how to manage expectations, it's essential to clarify why you should emphasise expectation management upfront:

  • The opportunity for ongoing business with a leader or team is optimised if you manage client expectations well (and maybe even exceed them).
  • The leader is more likely to recommend you and provide testimonials on you and your offering, which is the best marketing you can have. Think 'Delighted', 'Connected', 'Inspired' and 'Supported clients.
  • Not setting expectations can trigger 'disappointed', 'confused', disheartened, undesired feelings is not good for your potential for ongoing engagement with that leader or client or recommending you to others (see points above).
  • The ECD is a highly versatile tool you can use in many ways. W

Tune into ECDTV!

Introducing ECDTV. New ways. New ideas. New answers. New perspectives.

The ECD has grown into a tiny universe. With hundreds of thousands of users around the world.

ECDTV is our way of sharing this universe and the inspiring people at the heart of it. ECDTV will help us offer viewpoints from members of our ECD communities.

We'll create content on why and how to use the ECD which we hope will give people the confidence and courage to also take up and use the ECD to humanise the workplaces they serve.

Elephant Rider Insights – ECDTV Series.

The first series on ECDTV is called Elephant Rider Insights. Our second episode with Sally Duxfiled is now live on ECDTV here.

We visited Sally Duxfield - Experiential Architect at her off-the-grid, Arete Leadership Village to learn more about how she crafts profound and meaningful experiences to help develop leaders and teams.
